How to Reach Anand

Anand is approachable both by rail and by road. A large number of trains ply between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, most of them halting briefly at Anand. Anand is also directly connected by rail to other important cities of India including Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Calcutta, Delhi, Hyderabad, Madras and Tiruvananthapuram. Most other places that are not directly connected may be reached via a changeover at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai or Delhi. The journey to Mumbai takes around 6 to 8 hours and to Delhi around 14 to 16 hours.

Many state-owned and private buses run between Anand and several important cities. State-run buses plying at intervals of 30 minutes take you to Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Buses also ply towards Mumbai, Udaipur, Nasik, Pune and other parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

Anand may be reached by air through Vadodara or Ahmedabad. The Vadodara Airport is connected to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam while the Ahmedabad Airport is connected to most major Indian metros and quite a few international cities including Doha, Newark, and Singapore. Tourist Taxis are available at the Vadodara and Ahmedabad airports which may be hired to reach Anand. On an average the tourist taxis charge a little over Rs.2000 at both airports to reach Anand.
