IRMA commenced its 15-Month Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural), PGDMX(R) with Shri Dilip Rath, Chairman, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Shri Sangram Chaudhary, Executive Director, NDDB and Prof Hitesh V. Bhatt, Director, IRMA gracing the occasion.
Shri Rath fondly remembered the founder of the two path-breaking institutes, late Dr. Verghese Kurien on the occasion. “India can’t depend on accidental Kuriens”, these words by Dr. Kurien rang loud as Shri Rath addressed the first batch of PGDMX(R). The first batch of the programme has 31 participants.
Prof Paresh J Bhatt, Chair, PGDMX(R), introduced the participants and invited guests to the dignitaries.
Prof Hitesh Bhatt addressed the participants of the new programme about the challenges it will bring in terms of their academic, social, cultural as well as conceptual understanding.
Shri Rath recognized the different fields that the participants of the first batch had come from and expressed hope that this would help create a shared pool of knowledge that would benefit them all. He added that IRMA’s erstwhile One Year Programme (OYP) had helped in adding value to the leadership of cooperatives and he hoped that the newly introduced programme would bring a breath of fresh air to the same as it is necessary to serve the larger purpose of society, i.e. to empower the rural sector and rejuvenate it for modern India.
Shri Chaudhary in his address thanked Shri Rath for the genesis of the Executive Programme. He also implored the participants to learn by not just being attentive but by being humble as well as curious. He said that management is an amalgamation of both science and art and learning it well can only be done by striking the perfect balance.
The first batch will commence its classroom term for the 15-month Programme from 7th January, 2019.
