Innovation Centre for Eco-Prudent Wastewater Solutions (IC-ECOWS)[1] is a consortium of National Institute of Hydrology Roorkee, Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and Institute of Rural Management Anand. The aim of IC-ECOWS is to explore the potential of selected Natural Treatment Systems (NTS) technologies aimed at wastewater treatment and recycling and assess their feasibility in terms of appropriateness and sustainability in urban, peri-urban and rural settings. The Centre’s endeavour will be to develop appropriate “Technology Packages” based on identified NTS technologies, which are suitable for different applications. IRMA is entrusted with the responsibility of socio-economic cost-benefit analysis of NTSs and developing business models for the technology providers. It is also responsible for dissemination of information regarding the NTS technology, its economic viability and management.
