  • How IRMA will admit students for PGDRM 2018-20?

    IRMA will use CAT 2017 / XAT 2018 and "IRMASAT 2018" scores for admission to PGDRM 2018-2020. 

    "IRMASAT" - The IRMA Social Awareness Test will be held in February 2018. 

    IIMs and XLRI have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme of IRMA.

  • How to obtain Application Form from IRMA for PGDRM 2018-20?

    An applicant can opt for one of the following options:

     

    a)                 Apply online and pay through payment gateway.

    b)           Take a print out of SBI challan available on IRMA website in the admission link. Make payment at any branch of SBI by using the challan. SBI would then issue a unique ID number. Use this unique ID number and apply online through IRMA website.

    c)         Printed application material (prospectus, application forms, etc.) may be obtained from Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand - 388 001 on payment of full fees. (All the payments to IRMA should be made in the form of a demand draft favouring IRMA and it should be payable at Anand).

    The total number of seats available for PRM 2018-20 is 240. Fifteen percent of the approved intake is allocated for admission to Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries and Sons & Daughters of Non Resident Indian(s) / NRI Sponsored applicants.

    Yes, there is negative marking for the written test of "IRMASAT".

    Weightage for the same is decided by management time to time.

  • How to apply?

    For Indian National

    Application fees will be waived for applicants belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. Such applicants may apply online and send the print out of the application form with photocopy of self-attested latest proof of Below Poverty Line (BPL) status issued by the appropriate authority to get exemption from paying application fees OR they can send a request by post or courier for an application form to the Admissions Office, IRMA with a photocopy of self-attested latest proof of Below Poverty Line (BPL) status issued by the appropriate authority to get exemption from paying application fees. IRMA will send printed material (prospectus, application form, sample question paper etc.) to such applicants.

    b.            Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Children of    Indian workers in Gulf Countries and Sons & Daughters of Non Resident Indian(s) / NRI Sponsored Applicants:

    There is no provision for extra weightage of experience for admission to PGDRM programme. However, the experience is valued during personal interview.

    Last Date for receipt of filled in applications for PGDRM 2018-20 (Indian Nationals) is December 31, 2017.

  • How many questions will be there in the IRMASAT?
    There will be 40 questions in the "IRMASAT".

  • When and How the Applicants Will Get the Admit Card?

    IRMA will only upload the Admit Card for "IRMASAT" - The IRMA Social Awareness Test to be held in February 04, 2018 (Sunday) of all eligible applicants in the last week of January 2018. Applicant can download it from IRMA website by using her/his form number or roll number. No hard copies will be issued by IRMA.

     

     


  • Can NRI Sponsored applicant apply for PGDRM-39 (PGDRM 2018 - 20)? How ?

    YES.

    NRI Sponsored applicant can apply for PGDRM-39 (PGDRM 2018 - 20) through GMAT / GRE Scores (taken on or after July 01, 2013) / CAT2017 OR XAT2018 scores.

  • Can final year student apply for PGDRM39 (2018 - 20) ?

    Those who are in their final year and who expect to complete all the requirements of graduation before June 04, 2018 may also apply. 

  • Which score will be will be considered, if I have provided both (CAT & XAT) registration numbers?
    Out of both the scores (CAT/XAT), higher score will be considered for selection process.

  • What is the educational requirement for Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management 2018-20 (PGDRM 2018-20)?

    Eligibility Criteria for Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management 2018-20 (PGDRM 2018-20):

    A graduate from any discipline, with a minimum of 15 years (10+2+3) of education, having 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST/DAP (Differently Abled Person)) aggregate marks at the graduation level can apply for admission. The percentage of aggregate marks is to be calculated as per the practice followed by the concerned university or institution. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IRMA by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

  • What are the specialisations offered by IRMA in Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM)?

    IRMA does not offer any further formal specialization than the Rural Management itself for its Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management.

    However, students are given choice to select their optional courses during the last two classroom terms, i.e., 4th and 5th terms.

  • Can I register for Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) without staying in the campus?

    No. Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) is a two-year fully residential programme.

    Accommodation with family is not available for Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) student.

  • What is the duration of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM)?

    Yes, Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

    Yes, Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) is recognised as an equivalent to a master's degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

  • Is there any age limit for Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) ?

    There is no age limit for the admission in Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM).

  • What are the placement activities for Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM)?

    Our PGDRM graduates are highly valued by cooperatives, NGOs, government development agencies, and national and international donors engaged in promoting rural development. The distinguishing feature of all these bodies is their willingness and ability to make effective use of young and well-trained professional managers. The five-day campus recruitment programme organised by the Campus Placement Office is held during the 5th term in second year of PGDRM. The jobs offered to IRMA graduates vary widely. The job offers are in areas such as planning and information systems, production management, marketing, finance, accounts, human resource development, rural development, and natural resource management.

    IRMA seeks to ensure that its graduates are offered competitive remuneration. IRMA has enlisted over 650 organisations that are designated for the purpose of placement of its graduates. The list is ever increasing, and attempts are made every year to enlist more organisations that can offer challenging careers to IRMA students. Consistent with its objectives, IRMA's placement support is confined to placing students with the designated organisations only. IRMA desires that its graduates seek employment only with these designated organisations. It may be noted that IRMA's placement facility is not open to sponsored candidates.

    IRMA graduates have succeeded not only in choosing meaningful jobs but have also received decent salaries with 100 per cent placement. The annual salaries received by the last three PGDRM batches are shown below:

       Some participants prefer to join grassroot organisations, even though these offer relatively low salaries, over other high-paying jobs because they are attracted by the greater challenges, innovative experiments, and greater autonomy offered by these positions.  There is also a provision of IRMA fellowships for the students who join low paying but highly relevant jobs in the rural development sector.

  • Do I need to send hard copy (print out) of my filled application form to IRMA ?

    Only BPL applicants and sponsored applicants are required to send hard copy (print out) of filled application form.

    BPL applicants are required to send hard copy of application form with the latest proof of BPL status issued by appropriate authority. 

    Sponsored applicants are required to send hard copy of application form with certificate from their employer as per declaration of sponsorship form available on IRMA website

    All other applicants (other than BPL) are not required to send hard copy (print out) of filled application form to IRMA.

  • How do I retrieve my user-id and password in case it is lost?

    You are expected to keep a record of user id and password. If you are able to send us the user-id, your password can be mailed to you.

  • How do I correct wrong entries after submissions?

    You are required to follow instruction carefully and write the correct information before submission of your application online. You are given a facility to edit your entries prior to final submission. Once submit button is pressed and you have been allotted a form number you cannot edit the entries. In such a case you are advised to take a printout of the submitted application form, make corrections as required in the form and send it to us as per the address notified. We shall arrange to make changes in your form accordingly. However, you have been advised to take enough precautions while submitting your application.

  • How do I use my SMS & Email service?
    You need to register your mobile number & email Id in your profile. If you have not done so, please do it immediately & contact admissions office for details. All the candidates having valid mobile number & email Id will receive information of their candidature, at various stages of the process (Roll No.  exam venue details, written test result, final selection).
  • How do I track status of my application & candidature?

    You will find an URL titled “Application Status” in admissions section of our website https://www.irma.ac.in/. Please navigate through this URL & follow the instructions. You need to provide your form number and date of birth. This section will display the current status of your application, such as your form number, roll number, allocated centre, and status of your result of various tests conducted during the admission process. Besides, the Institute has introduced SMS service (broadcast and unicast) for the applicants. This service will be available during the appropriate stage of the admission process. The broadcast service is controlled by the Institute and the message will be transmitted only once for each stage. As regards unicast service, you can get the status of your application by sending SMS to 9687933388. While sending SMS, please mention ADM space and then quote your Form No., to get the response. For example ADM 25633. Please note this broadcast service is free of charge whereas unicast service will be chargeable as per the rates prescribed by service providers. Unicast service can be availed repeatedly. Those applying by hard copy application forms can get the status of their applications forms after two weeks of the closing date.

  • If I am not able to proceed further for registration, then what to do?

    If you are not able to proceed further, please ensure that you have turned off "popup-blocker" in your browser's option settings

  • What do I mean by "Broadcast" and "Unicast" SMS service?

    IRMA has introduced SMS service for the Indian Nationals only. At different stages of the application process, the Institute will send status of the applications to all its eligible applicants, who have registered their mobile number, through broadcast SMS service. Unicast service is meant for personal communication to the individual applicant. The applicant who wishes to know the latest status of her/his application, she/he can do so by sending SMS to 9687933388. While sending SMS, please mention ADM space and then quote your Form No., to get the response. For example ADM 25633.

    Please note unicast service is chargeable to the applicant as per SMS agreement that the service provider has with the applicant (IRMA does not charge for this service). However, broadcast service is absolutely free for the applicant (IRMA bears the cost).

  • What is 3d Secure PIN and where from I shall get it?

    This PIN is mandatory requirement for the sponsoring bank to validate credit card supported transactions. IRMA does not have any role to generate this PIN. Please contact your sponsoring bank.

  • What should I do if I am unable to proceed on online payment?

    Printed application material (prospectus, application forms, etc.) may be obtained from Admissions Office, IRMA, Anand - 388 001 on payment of full fees. (All the payments to IRMA should be made in the form of a demand draft favouring ‘IRMA’ and it should be payable at “Anand”).

  • What are the legal status of the Institute and PGDRM Programme?

    Institute of Rural Management Anand was established in the year 1979, as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.  It is registered as a deemed public trust under section 2(13) of the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. IRMA is not substantially or wholly owned either by the Government of India or by the State. It is a self financed Institute. 

    IRMA is a pioneering academic institution in rural management education and research. It is committed to pursuing excellence along with creativity and integrity. PGDRM is recognised as equivalent to a master's degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). PGDRM and FPRM are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

  • What is the medium of education at IRMA?
    The medium of instruction at IRMA is English.
  • Whether PGDRM is approved by AICTE
    Yes PGDRM is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
  • Whether PGDRM is equivalent to Master?

    Yes, PGDRM is recognised as an equivalent of a master's degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

  • Does IRMA gives any Financial Assistant and/or Scholarship?

    IRMA has several prestigious scholarships for deserving Participants, which are mentioned below:

    IRMA Fellowship: Currently only Participants who get a monthly gross salary that is less than the decided minimum gross salary are eligible to receive the IRMA Fellowship (provided they join the organisations that are eligible for the purpose of the fellowship). The amount of the IRMA Fellowship to an eligible Participant will be equal to the difference between the actual amount of his/her gross salary and the decided minimum gross salary. The recipient of IRMA fellowship may get a maximum of Rs. 3 lakhs during the course of 3 years. There could be revisions to these procedures. IRMA encourages Participants to work in the eligible organisations and the number of scholarships are likely to be increased.

    Scholarships for SC / ST Applicants : SC / ST  scholarships covering the entire costs of education of SC / ST applicants are available at IRMA.  The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India has allocated four scholarships to IRMA for SC Participants. The scholarship covers fees, non-refundable charges, lodging and boarding expenses, and cost of books, stationery, and personal computer (http://www.socialjustice.nic.in). The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India has allocated five scholarships to IRMA for ST applicants. The amount of the scholarship covers tuition fees, boarding and lodging expenses, book grant, and a one-time grant for the purchase of a personal computer (http://www.tribal.nic.in). The National Dairy Development Board also offers some scholarships to SC/ST applicants for both the years of PGDRM.

    Fee Exemption: Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme as per the AICTE rules, available in the IRMA. IRMA also firmly believes that no one should be deprived of education for lack of financial resources. Hence IRMA is open to providing financial assistance to meet the PGDRM tuition fees of extremely poor applicants. Participants can request for Fee Exemption after joining only.

    Educational Loans: Educational loans are available from various banks to applicants enrolling at IRMA. 

    Bridge Fund: A fund of Rs. 10 lakhs has been set aside by the Institute for the Participants facing economic deprivation to bridge the gap between the dates of payment of IRMA and the disbursement of payment from different financing option (e. g. Bank loan, SC-ST fellowship, fee waiver scheme of IRMA etc.)

  • Whether bank loans are available for the PGDRM programme?

    Educational loans are available from various banks.

    The State Bank of India, Anand and Central Bank of India, Anand provides educational loans at a lower interest rate and without any collateral to candidates enrolling at IRMA.
