PGDRM Placements Last Year

Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) placements were held during February 12-17, 2018. Maintaining the 100% placements record since its inception in 1979, the current batch of 180 students were placed in three days time. Our average salary offered by the private sector crossed 12 lakhs mark. It stands at 12.17 lakhs per annum (against 10.57 lakhs last year) and that for the development sector organizations (NGOs, Cooperatives, and Government Development Agencies) stands at 9.42 lakhs per annum (against 9.37 lakhs last year). The combined average salary for the current batch stands at Rs. 11.39 lakhs per annum (against 10.22 lakhs last year), and the median stands at Rs. 10 lakhs per annum (against 8.40 lakhs last year). A substantial improvement in the median salary over the last year figure is quite encouraging for us. The maximum salary for the batch stands at Rs. 46.50 lakhs and the minimum salary consciously chosen by our student stands at 3.50 lakhs. Prof. Pratik Modi coordinated the placements activities this year.

This year’s placements experienced a substantial increase in the number of overall job offers received compared to the last year. As an indication of the increased engagement of business as well as development sector organizations with rural, we received 315 job offers from 114 recruiters for the batch. This year 18 students received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) from various organizations. The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation is the single largest recruiter this year, as it was the last year. It recruited 16 candidates from IRMA. Cooperatives/Producers Collectives as a sector recruited a total of 30 candidates. Multinational and national agribusiness corporations such as Tolaram, Afriventures, Cummins, Cargill, ITC, Zuari, Mars International, ADM, Godrej Agro, Kancor, Mapro, etc., participated in the placements. KPMG recruited in consulting positions. Banking, finance, and insurance companies recruited the most number of graduates. ICICI bank, IndusInd, IDFC bank, Fullerton, Tata AIG, Bharati AXA, Reliance Insurance, and several other organizations recruited from the campus placements.  

A total of 16 students took up offers made by NGOs and development agencies. Organizations such as BAIF Development Research Foundation, Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society – JEEVIKA, Kudumbashree, Livolink Foundation (An Associate Organization of Tata Trust), Madhya Pradesh Shyama Prasad Mukherji - RURBAN Mission, Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (MPSRLM), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Swaniti Initiative, URMUL Trust, etc., recruited through the campus placements.
