  • Nurturing and Monitoring Collective Enterprises in Downstream of Subhansiri Lower Project [Principal Investigator] (Budget: INR 2,75,00,000.00)

This project is collaborative action research with the active participation of NHPC Limited, partner organizations, district administration, and communities. The project nurtures and monitors multiple sector-based climate-resilient livelihoods by creating collective enterprises owned by the communities.

Decarbonisation of energy supply, community building and creating environmental and socioeconomic benefits [Principal Investigator, Indian part]

This is a collaborative project between 12 European agencies, India and China. In this project we define the energy islands as areas (e.g. isolated villages, small cities, urban districts, rural areas) either connected to the grid, or with a significant degree of self-supply.

This project is a collaborative action research with active participation of NHPC Limited, partner organizations, district administration, and communities. The project implements multiple sector based climate resilient livelihoods by creating collective enterprises owned by the communities. Three producers companies one each in piggery, sericulture and handloom sectors are promoted under this assignment which are engaged in the complete value chains.

Independent Evaluation of Sustainable Livelihoods and Adaptation to Climate Change 2020 (Budget: INR 1,62,47,420)  [Principal Investigator]
The study evaluated the resilience of farmers to climate variability and change. We devised a unique methodology to evaluate the resilience of ecological as well as socio-economic systems.

Climate Change Adaptation Approaches for Sustainable Livelihoods [Principal/ Sole Investigator]
    (INR 67,91,730.00)
This is a collaborative study between IRMA and International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), Austria designed to provide evidence-based strategies for mainstream adaptation to development planning in Gujarat while ensuring livelihood security. Based on Agro-ecological modelling, the study provides Scenarios of Gujarat Agriculture in the 21st Century mainly on the following dimensions: (i) Yield and production gaps due to climate change; and (ii) Agricultural sustainability. The study also develops knowledge, strategies, approaches, measures, and processes that will enable vulnerable communities in Gujarat to cope with and adapt to the impending impacts of climate change.

Independent Assessment of DAY-NRLM in Jammu & Kashmir [Principal Investigator] (Budget: INR 1,38,00,000) 2019 [Principal Investigator]
On recommendation of the Union Cabinet we took up this study to evaluate the key processes adopted and the impacts of the Mission in different component areas viz., social inclusion, institution building, financial inclusion, livelihoods promotion and social harmony.

Independent Assessment of Design, Strategies and Impacts of DAY-NRLM  2017 Budget: (INR 1,99,90,326) [Principal Investigator]
This involves evaluating the key design features, components, implementation architecture and systems established and strategies and key processes adopted by the Mission. The study also evaluates the key processes adopted and emerging results of the Mission in different component areas viz., social inclusion, institution building, financial inclusion, livelihoods promotion and entitlements and convergence.
