1. What is the legal status of the Institute of Rural Management Anand?

The Institute of Rural Management Anand was established in the year 1979, as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It is registered as a deemed public trust under section 2(13) of the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. IRMA is not substantially or wholly owned either by the Government of India or by the State.

IRMA offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Rural Management-Executive) and Fellow Programme in Management (Rural Management). All academic programmes are approved by AICTE. PGDM (RM) is recognised as equivalent to Master’s by Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

IRMA does not offer any correspondence course.

The medium of instruction at IRMA is English.

Yes, it is recognised as equivalent to a Master’s degree by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) (https://irma.ac.in/uploads/accreditations/pdf/aiu.pdf).

IRMA has 37 faculty members on its full-time role. Majority of faculty members are Ph.Ds / Fellows from top national and international institutes and universities.
